Matt is a graphic designer by trade working for a chemistry charity but by night, he moonlights as a wood carver also known as a whittler.
As a wood carver, I create beautiful small wooden characters and of late I been focusing on the festive season. The wood I use consists of Lime and is English sourced However I try to be sustainable as possible it also depends If I can forage any other type.
The thing I love about carving is the ability to pick the craft up and put it down again. It’s very therapeutic whether it’s do it for 5 minutes or 1 hour.
Woodcarving doesn’t have to be elaborate to be great. You just have to enjoy it. Beauty will come as a result of enjoying
