David Holmlund har ända sedan barnsben varit intresserad av att ge liv till träämnen som han hittat i naturen. Men det var först 1991 som slöjdandet tog fart på riktigt allvar. Det var året han klev över tröskeln till träslöjdsutbildningen på Vindelns Folkhögskola och direkt fick känslan av att äntligen ha kommit hem.

Davids unika talang uppmärksammades snabbt och karriären fick en extra skjuts när författaren Sven Nordqvist gav David sitt godkännande att få skapa hans älskade barnbokskaraktärer. David har ställt ut sina skulpturer hos varuhuset NK, Nordiska Museet och Liljevalchs i Stockholm.

Ever since he was a child, David Holmlund has been interested in giving life to wood substances that he had found in nature. But it was not until 1991 that handicraft and wood carvingreally took off. That was the year he stepped over the threshold for the woodcraft education at Vindeln Folk High School and immediately got the feeling that he had finally come home.

David's unique talent was quickly noticed and his career got an extra boost when well-known author Sven Nordqvist gave David his approval to create his beloved children's book characters. David has exhibited his sculptures at the NK department store, the Nordic Museum and Liljevalchs in Stockholm.
